About Roger

Roger Pemberton runs Kotik Solutions. He's spent two decades across small-business IT, graphic design, and digital marketing — the three disciplines behind the work Kotik does today. Before starting this, he ran Level 2 IT at a managed-service provider (cloud migrations, Windows Server, Office 365, HIPAA and PCI compliance), supported a 200-user district at an energy company, handled in-house social media and content production for five national outdoor-equipment brands, and spent six years in business development helping small and mid-sized shops reach more customers through social and digital advertising.

Today his focus is where all of that converges: Local SEO, AI Search Optimization, modern web development, and social media management for small businesses. Roger is based in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas — a small town itself — and works with owner-run businesses across the country who want the same technical depth the national agencies sell, without the overhead or the distance.

About Kotik

Remus Helios Kotik Pemberton — Kotik for short — comes from humble beginnings. You wouldn't know it by his imperious nature. His favorite activities are destroying Amazon boxes, 3 a.m. parkour, and leaving discarded orange fur wherever he roams.

Kotik is not at all surprised that we named our company after him — he no doubt expected it. While he is not a salaried employee, he takes advantage of all company perks. He may not be much of a worker, but he keeps our days interesting.

What we believe

Six things we won't compromise on.

A small firm with thirty years of clients to please can't be all things to all people. These are the lines we draw, the way we work, and the trade-offs we've learned the hard way. If they fit the way you want to be worked with, we'll get along.

Transparency over jargon.

Reports go out in plain English. We tell you what was done, what it produced, and what we'd try next. No black-box dashboards, no acronym soup, no "trust us, the algorithm liked it."

If you can't explain to your spouse what we did this month, we wrote the report wrong.

Skill over scale.

We cap client load on purpose. Every engagement is run by the people doing the work — not handed down a sales chain to an offshore pool you'll never meet.

A small roster means we have time to think about your business specifically. That's the trade-off we picked.

Execution matters more than strategy.

Strategy decks are easy. Shipping is hard. We've never lost a client over a bad plan; we've lost time and money over plans that never turned into work.

We do plan — every audit ends with a prioritized one. But the plan is the doorway, not the room. The work is the room.

Honest about what works.

If a service isn't right for your business, we'll say so. If a competitor would serve you better on a specific piece, we'll tell you that too — and point you to the right one.

Selling somebody work they don't need is a bad day for them and a bad year for us. We'd rather pass on revenue than spend the next twelve months explaining why it isn't working.

No long-term lock-ins.

Monthly retainers run month-to-month after the initial term. If you want to leave, you give thirty days' notice and we hand back your accounts, your domain, your content — clean.

A client who stays because the work is working is worth ten who stay because they're stuck in a contract.

Small towns count too.

We built the Main Street program — a $75/month template-based site for the diner, the feed store, the family-run shop — because national agencies won't touch businesses our size and we will.

It's a community-benefit program. We make less on each one. We're fine with that.
