Kotik Solutions

A small firm, for small businesses

Built in a small town. Running the digital side of businesses like yours.

We're based in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas — a small town ourselves — and we work with independent and small-town businesses across the country. Staying on top of Google, AI search, your website, and your social feed is a full-time job of its own. That's ours, not yours. We bring the same technical work the national agencies sell, priced and delivered for businesses our size.

What we do

Four services. One goal: more customers finding and choosing your business.

Why this matters

Google isn't the only place your customers look anymore.

A growing share of customers ask ChatGPT — or read Google's AI answer at the top of a search — for recommendations before scrolling through traditional results. When that happens, the AI surfaces a short list of businesses to suggest. If you aren't set up to appear there, you aren't part of the conversation.

Businesses that adapt early tend to hold the advantage. Our job is to make sure yours is one of them.

About Kotik Solutions

A focused firm, working directly with the clients it serves.

Most of the digital work pitched to small businesses comes from teams selling the same templated playbook to everyone, from a sales pool that never touches the actual work. We work the opposite way — small client roster, direct engagement, and the people doing the work answer your questions.

Focused scope.

Websites, SEO, AI search, and social. We go deep on these and decline the rest.

Reports that reflect real work.

Monthly updates show what was done and what it produced. No filler, no stock dashboards.

Fixed, transparent pricing.

Every engagement is quoted up front. No hourly billing, no surprise add-ons, no mid-project rate changes.

Direct communication.

Questions reach the person doing the work, not a support desk or ticket queue.

How we work

Three steps. No surprises.

  1. Step 1: Audit — review of whichever services you're interested in: website, Google Business Profile, AI search visibility, social accounts, and the competitive context around them
  2. Step 2: Plan — Keyword research and mapping, competitor analysis, content strategy outline, and site architecture audit
  3. Step 3: Execute — On-page implementation, content creation and publishing, link building campaigns, and reporting and monitoring

Every engagement follows the same process: audit first, then plan, then execution. No long-term lock-ins. Start with just the audit and you walk away with a prioritized plan — whether or not we continue from there.

Common questions — broken down by service.

What's the difference between SEO and Local SEO? +
General SEO is about ranking for searches from anywhere. Local SEO is about ranking for searches that have a location intent — 'plumber near me,' 'dentist in Jonesboro,' searches from inside a specific city. Local SEO uses different signals (the Map Pack, your Google Business Profile, proximity, reviews) on top of traditional on-page SEO.
Do I need a physical storefront? +
No. If you're a service-area business (you travel to customers) you can still rank in Local SEO — you just set your service area in your Google Business Profile and hide your address. Home services, trades, consultants, and mobile businesses all qualify.
How important are reviews? +
Very. Review quantity, recency, and response rate all feed Google's local ranking signals directly, and they're the #1 trust signal for human buyers. A business with 80+ reviews at 4.7+ stars will almost always outrank a stronger competitor sitting at 3.9 with 10 reviews.
Will a cheap Fiverr gig do the same thing? +
No. Cheap citation-blasting services damage more businesses than they help — they spray inconsistent NAP data across low-quality directories and create duplicate profiles Google will eventually penalize. We clean this mess up for clients every month.
How do I know it's working? +
Three things you can check without us: (1) Google Business Profile performance dashboard — impressions, calls, direction requests. (2) Your actual rankings for the keywords we target, from a local IP. (3) The qualified leads coming through your contact form. We report on all three.
AI Search Optimization More →
What's the difference between SEO and AI Search Optimization? +
Traditional SEO targets search engines that show a list of links — Google, Bing. AI Search Optimization targets systems that generate answers directly — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews, Claude. The goal shifts from 'rank high on a page of results' to 'be the source the AI quotes in its answer.' Different signals, different content shapes, same underlying goal: get found.
Is this the same as GEO or AEO? +
Yes. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) are two of the common names for this discipline. The industry hasn't fully settled on one term. We use 'AI Search Optimization' on the site because it's the clearest for business owners.
Can you guarantee I'll show up in ChatGPT? +
No — and as with traditional SEO, anyone promising you a guaranteed citation is misleading you. What we can guarantee is that we'll implement every known best practice (structured data, llms.txt, AEO-ready content, crawler access) so that your site is among the best candidates for citation. We also track the results honestly.
Do I need Local SEO first? +
Usually yes — if you're a local business. Local SEO builds the foundation of authority signals (reviews, citations, GBP) that AI systems also consume. AI Search Optimization layers on top. If you're skipping Local SEO to jump straight to AEO, you're probably leaving easier wins on the table.
Will AI search replace Google? +
Not soon, but it doesn't have to. Even if AI search takes 20% of buyer queries, that's 20% of your potential customers seeing answers generated by systems you're either part of or absent from. We treat AI search as the new fast-growing channel, not a replacement for the old one.
Web Design & Development More →
How much does a website cost? +
Most small-business projects fall between $6,000 and $18,000 depending on scope — number of pages, content help, integrations, design complexity. We quote fixed-price after discovery so you're never billed by the hour.
What platforms do you build on? +
Modern static-first frameworks — primarily Astro and Next.js, with Tailwind CSS. We avoid page builders (Wix, Squarespace, Weebly) because they cap performance and SEO. When a content team needs non-dev editing, we add a headless CMS like Sanity or Payload.
Can you redesign my WordPress site? +
Yes. We can port your content to a faster static platform, keep your URLs and SEO equity, and deliver something that's 10× faster and easier to maintain. Migration is part of the scope.
Do you handle hosting and domains? +
Yes — we handle hosting and configuration end-to-end, so you don't have to set up or manage a separate hosting account. You still own your site, your content, and your domain. If you ever want to leave, we hand everything over clean so you can take it elsewhere. No held-hostage situations.
What about ongoing maintenance? +
Optional monthly care plans cover security patches, content updates, small improvements, and uptime monitoring. We price them fairly — typically $150–$500/month depending on site complexity.
Social Media Management More →
Which platforms do you manage? +
Most clients are on Facebook and Instagram, often with Google Business Profile posts as a bonus because it doubles up with Local SEO. We'll add TikTok, LinkedIn, or Pinterest when they make sense for your business — not just to check a box.
How much does it cost? +
Plans start as low as $99 a month, but every business has unique needs — so we learn about yours before talking price. After a short intake call, we scope a fixed-price plan that fits your platforms, cadence, and content goals. No hourly billing, no pressure.
Do you write the captions or do I? +
We write everything. You review and approve before it posts. If you want to keep writing some posts yourself, we mix your drafts in with ours — plenty of owners do this.
Where do the photos and videos come from? +
Best case, from you — a few minutes of phone photos each week. We make the most of what you send. For months where you don't have time, we fill in with stock-free graphics and short animated pieces we build in your brand.
Will you handle ads or boosted posts? +
Simple boosted posts, yes — usually $50–$300/month in spend, managed alongside the content. For larger paid campaigns (lead-gen, retargeting, Meta Ads Manager funnels) we scope that separately so it gets the attention it needs.
